Learn how to create, modify and save; Locations, Alternates, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) Codes in estimating. On the Default Takeoff Values window, Click the down arrow to select the location to assign to the next batch of items chosen for takeoff. Alternates; as the name implies, allows you to provide ‘what if’ scenarios within the estimate. By having the alternates in the estimate, you can toggle them on and off to see how they affect the estimate totals. WBS codes are user-defined codes that enable you to add additional custom information to items stored in your database as well as items that make up an estimate. WBS codes can be used to organize how information prints on reports and give you control over how costs are accumulated for spreadsheets.
